Director Analyst - Direct Spend Procurement Technology (Remote - Ireland/UK)

About the Role

As a Director Analyst within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights group, you will act as a thought leader creating essential, actionable insights and best practices for leading organizations worldwide. Your expertise will guide clients on procurement technology strategies impacting direct spend, including areas like source-to-pay suites, supplier risk management, multitier visibility, vendor managed inventory, commodity risk trading, and AI applications in procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce innovative and authoritative research content that provides essential and compelling insights.
• Develop new perspectives and actionable recommendations that help clients overcome challenges and advance their strategies.
• Analyze root causes of client issues, reframing their strategic outlook.
• Exhibit thought leadership to guide research directions and mentor junior analysts.
• Engage clients through virtual or face-to-face meetings, delivering presentations for Gartner events, associations, and briefings.
• Support sales teams by providing market insights and content that drive client engagement and business growth.
• Contribute to research process improvements and collaborate across global teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
• Over 10 years’ experience working with procurement technologies focused on direct spend transformation.
• Proven track record leading digital transformation projects for direct materials procurement.
• Strong knowledge of procurement platforms like SAP Ariba, GEP, Ivalua, Oracle, Levadata, and SourceDay.
• Experience integrating procurement systems with ERP/MRP and other supply chain technologies.
• Familiarity with supplier risk management tools such as Everstream Analytics, Exiger, apexanalytix, Prewave, and Resilinc preferred.
• Capability to articulate procurement technology’s value in supply chain operations and emerging technology impacts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multicultural, matrixed teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
