Role overview
This position supports a client’s on-premises desktop environment through practical, hands-on assistance and day-to-day device lifecycle management. The focus is on keeping end-user systems stable, secure, and available while resolving desktop-related issues quickly and professionally.
What you will do
- Deliver on-site support for incidents, service requests, and problem records related to desktop services.
- Diagnose and fix issues involving hardware, operating systems, applications, and connectivity, including login problems, network access, printers, and other peripherals.
- Handle employee joiner and leaver processes, such as checking account access and applying standard device setups.
- Assist with desktop imaging and standard workstation builds, and coordinate application packaging or deployment when needed.
- Install, update, and verify endpoint software such as productivity tools, business applications, and security software.
- Apply and maintain endpoint configuration standards, including policies, drive mappings, shortcuts, permissions, and default settings.
- Support device health by coordinating OS patching and updates, validating configurations, and carrying out remediation tasks.
- Maintain endpoint security practices, including antivirus/EDR status, firewall settings, least-privilege controls, and secure configuration.
- Keep technical records accurate, including logs, asset and update records, runbooks, and fix notes.
- Work with other technical teams when incidents need escalation or specialist support.
- Provide basic support for common end-user tools and peripherals such as VPN clients, email/profile setup, browsers, and similar utilities.
What we are looking for
- Hands-on background in desktop support or end-user computing within an on-premises setup.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across Windows-based laptops and desktops.
- Exposure to desktop lifecycle work, including onboarding/offboarding, imaging, standard builds, and configuration baselines.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and carrying out software installation, updates, or upgrades.
- Working knowledge of security basics such as patch hygiene, antivirus/EDR awareness, and secure system configuration.
- Comfort with documenting tasks clearly and following operational procedures.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to support end users effectively.
- Availability to work fully onsite in Abu Dhabi during business hours.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
