Overview
The Cross Border team at Shopee facilitates sellers worldwide to expand their sales into Southeast Asia and Taiwan. This team supports sellers in marketing their products across seven markets and provides essential services such as cross-border logistics, operational support, payments, product services, warehouse fulfillment, and business intelligence.
Focusing on Shopee Taiwan's Cross Border business, the team drives growth by collaborating with key global sellers, implementing impactful growth strategies, and enhancing operational efficiency. Their responsibilities include business planning activities such as budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss management, and analyzing commercial performance to aid strategic decisions for sustainable growth and profitability. With broad responsibilities and extensive collaboration across departments, this role influences vital business decisions within one of Shopee's strategic regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate monthly budgets, forecasts, and business projections to guide strategic planning and resource distribution.
- Analyze profit and loss statements alongside commercial performance to pinpoint revenue and cost influencers, generating actionable insights to boost revenues and profits.
- Track business performance, market trends, and customer behaviors to identify growth opportunities and develop data-driven strategies.
- Collaborate with teams including Business Development, Operations, and Marketing to evaluate commercial impacts and advance strategic projects.
- Create dashboards and reports monitoring key business metrics to detect risks and opportunities, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Perform financial modeling and conduct special analyses to assess business initiatives and assist strategic planning.
- Communicate business insights and recommendations to senior management through compelling data storytelling and financial evaluation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; a master's degree is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience through internships or full-time roles in strategy, business planning, or financial analysis, preferably within e-commerce, consulting, or similar sectors.
- Quick adaptability with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to convert complex data into practical insights.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SQL is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication aptitude capable of effectively presenting financial information to stakeholders.
- Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.
