About the Role
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead the advancement of our network and Data Center Interconnect (DCI) services, focusing on expanding key partnerships and constructing large-scale business deals. This vital position will also oversee the design and delivery of DCI platforms, collaborating directly with engineering teams and engaging strategic enterprise clients, with a strong emphasis on Malaysia's data center landscape while being Singapore-based.
Main Responsibilities
- Forge alliances with data center operators and become a primary liaison to bring them on board as preferred partners for DCI connectivity.
- Formulate and nurture strategic partnerships and agreements to broaden inter-data center connectivity and enable seamless ecosystem integration.
- Scout emerging DC markets and identify fresh interconnection prospects.
- Work in tandem with infrastructure and product engineering departments to ideate and develop new network and DCI products and service platforms.
- Lead the creation and marketing of scalable, on-demand DCI solutions using extensive optical transport and network resources.
- Supply market intelligence and customer feedback to help inform product development, pricing, and strategy.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to identify, engage, and secure crucial enterprise clients.
- Direct the negotiation and structuring of major commercial deals, building enduring executive relationships with accounts and ecosystem collaborators.
- Champion DCI network growth, provide business cases for large opportunities, and contribute substantially to company expansion objectives.
- Evaluate competition and market shifts; support promotional strategies for new products and platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience within the telecommunications or ICT sector, particularly involving pre-sales and post-sales of medium to large-scale infrastructure solutions.
- In-depth knowledge or hands-on experience with Telco services including Optical Networks, DWDM, Wavelength services, IP Networking, and inter-data center connectivity.
- Proven record engaging major cloud hyperscalers, carriers, or data center operators.
- Strong ability to work independently and proactively with customers, partners, and internal account teams.
- Comfortable with consulting frameworks and methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
