Business Analyst

Job Overview

This position is for a contract Business Analyst supporting the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) as part of a technical services team. The work is onsite at 5805 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. Candidates must reside in or near Austin, TX.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with current client projects by gathering themes, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and analyzing existing requirements documentation.
• Provide direct support to project and development teams on initiatives aimed at improving agency efficiency, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes, and enhancing service delivery.
• Facilitate discussions on project development and quality assurance, including collecting story points for predictive effort estimation models.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience as a senior-level Business Analyst in technical or emerging technology fields.
• Basic practical knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and practices.
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year experience documenting use cases and mapping process documentation.
