About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Payments Business Analyst to join a leading financial services firm in Dublin, supporting a key payments transformation initiative. This contract position involves playing a pivotal role in advancing business-critical projects centered around payments modernization, adherence to regulatory changes, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document both business and functional requirements.
- Lead workshops aimed at defining business needs, identifying improvements in processes, and capturing solution specifications.
- Create detailed Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Conduct analysis of current and future business processes and perform gap evaluations.
- Assist the Product Owner with backlog management, prioritization, and sprint planning activities.
- Work closely with Solution Architects, Developers, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support User Acceptance Testing, manage defects, and facilitate business readiness efforts.
- Perform impact assessments across payment systems, processes, and operational units.
- Ensure compliance of solutions with business goals, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services sectors.
- Deep understanding of payment schemes and payment processing, including SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, ISO 20022, as well as domestic and international payment systems.
- Proven track record managing complex business and technology change programs.
- Strong skills in requirements elicitation, business process documentation, and mapping.
- Experience operating within Agile project delivery frameworks.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation capabilities.
- An analytical approach with the ability to translate business challenges into actionable solutions.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Exposure to Payment Hub implementations or large-scale payments transformation projects.
- Familiarity with Open Banking and PSD2 regulations.
- Experience contributing to Core Banking system transformations.
- Understanding of API integrations and system interfacing.
- Competence in SQL for data analysis and validation tasks.
- Use of collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Visio.
- Recognition through Business Analysis certifications such as IIBA or BCS is advantageous.
