Role overview
IMDA is hiring a driven Assistant Director/Senior Manager to join the Human Capital team within Planning, Strategy & Data. The role focuses on shaping manpower policy work that keeps up with developments in technology and media.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and refresh manpower policies so they remain relevant to changes in the tech and media sectors.
- Carry out policy studies, examine data, and assess new industry trends to support policy decisions.
- Draft clear, high-quality briefs and presentation materials for senior leadership, senior public sector stakeholders, and Ministers.
- Manage the execution of manpower policies and related operational processes, ensuring delivery happens on time and effectively.
- Work closely with teams inside the organisation and with external government agencies to align priorities and strategic goals.
- Guide, coach, and build up a team of policy officers so they can contribute effectively to the cluster’s objectives.
What the organisation is looking for
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in policy development work within the Singapore Government.
- Strong ability to analyse information, make sense of complex data, and spot the most important issues.
- Very good written and spoken communication skills, with confidence in explaining complicated ideas to senior stakeholders in a clear and convincing way.
- Proven leadership experience, including the ability to develop and manage high-performing teams.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Knowledge of government structures and policy-making processes will be an added advantage.
