About the Role
LeafSpring Schools is looking to hire a dedicated Assistant Director / Curriculum Coordinator at their Matthews, NC location. This full-time role is an essential member of the school leadership team, responsible for supporting day-to-day school operations, ensuring that curriculum is delivered effectively, coaching teachers, and enhancing family engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily operational activities and serve as acting director when needed.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive coaching to teaching staff.
- Build and maintain positive connections with children, families, and staff.
- Support enrollment tours and efforts to retain families.
- Help maintain optimal staff-to-child ratios and assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and participate in leadership meetings and professional development.
- Oversee accurate implementation of the curriculum, review lesson plans weekly, and promote developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
- Lead curriculum training sessions, facilitate classroom assessments, model effective teaching strategies, and monitor learning environments for quality.
- Mentor new and existing teachers, provide ongoing feedback, assist with evaluations, and promote continuous professional growth.
- Engage with families through excellent communication regarding children's progress, address concerns professionally, and support family events and activities.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards, conduct audits, and participate in accreditation and emergency preparedness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Possession or willingness to obtain the North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential.
- Minimum of three years experience in early childhood education, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of North Carolina childcare licensing requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.
