Role Overview

This position offers the chance to take ownership of both accounts receivable and accounts payable operations while leading a small, high-performing team. It is a practical, hands-on leadership role with broad responsibility across supplier payments, customer collections, reconciliations, reporting, credit management, and process improvement in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the full accounts payable process, including supplier invoice handling, payment accuracy, and timely movement of work through Redmap and Pronto.
  • Oversee receivables activity such as cash collection, credit applications, customer checks, DSO performance, and management of bad debt exposure.
  • Manage employee finance tools and workflows, including Concur, expense reimbursements, corporate card spending, and the corporate travel system.
  • Support, guide, and develop a team of two while ensuring priorities are clear and workload is balanced effectively.
  • Produce accurate reporting and provide useful analysis and commentary on receivables, payables, and working capital performance.
  • Handle important reconciliations, control activities, and compliance tasks, including GRNI reconciliation, audit support, policy compliance, and ATO payment time reporting.
  • Work with internal teams across the organisation on customer onboarding, payments, account holds, supplier enquiries, and effective use of finance systems.
  • Spot opportunities to improve AR/AP processes and systems, with a focus on simplifying workflows, strengthening controls, and lifting productivity across the wider business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume, high-performing team, ideally in an FMCG environment.
  • Strong background in accounts payable and credit management within a small to medium FMCG business handling at least 500 suppliers and customers.
  • Advanced Excel capability.
  • Strong work ethic with the flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Energetic, positive, and engaging personality.
  • A qualification in Business Administration or Finance is preferred but not essential.
