UKG Pro / UltiPro HR and Payroll Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) Consultant with extensive expertise in HR and Payroll modules. The successful candidate will play a vital role in configuring, implementing, supporting, troubleshooting, and reporting on UKG Pro HR and Payroll solutions tailored to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Expertly manage UKG Pro / UltiPro HR and Payroll modules with hands-on operational knowledge.
• Configure and maintain Core HR systems including Employee Administration, Payroll, Benefits, and associated HR workflows.
• Possess thorough knowledge of US Payroll processes including processing cycles, tax computations, deductions, earnings calculation, and year-end closing.
• Oversee comprehensive payroll procedures, encompassing validation before payroll runs, calculations, reconciliation, and subsequent post-payroll tasks.
• Set up employee records, organizational hierarchies, pay groups, pay rates, deductions, tax frameworks, and payroll policy configurations.
• Handle employee lifecycle changes like new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and salary amendments effectively.
• Diagnose and resolve HR and payroll related issues, providing functional solutions.
• Collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand and convert business requirements into UKG Pro configurations.
• Create and maintain custom UKG Pro reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support business analytics.
• Support integrations between UKG Pro and external systems, such as benefits administration, finance, timekeeping, and other HR platforms.
• Conduct thorough data validation, testing, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Participate actively in system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and provide continuous production support.
• Develop functional documentation including configuration guides, test scripts, and user manuals.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases and provide end-user support during rollouts.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge and experience with UKG Pro / UltiPro platforms.
• Proficiency in Core HR, Employee Administration, Payroll, and Benefits modules.
• Strong understanding of US payroll and tax regulations including multi-state compliance.
• Expertise in payroll processing, reconciliation, and configuration.
• Skills in reporting, analytics, and data validation/conversion.
• Experience with system integrations and User Acceptance Testing.
• Client-facing consulting experience with effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with UKG Pro implementations and UltiPro to UKG Pro migrations or upgrades.
• Familiarity with UKG Pro APIs, Cognos reporting, and UKG BI solutions.
• Knowledge of US payroll compliance and taxation requirements.
• Holding UKG Pro certification is advantageous.
