About the Role
Join WSP Ireland as a Senior Proposal Manager within the Transport and Infrastructure team, playing a crucial role in securing profitable contracts across the island of Ireland. This impactful position involves leading complex bid opportunities from initial capture through to submission and successful handover to delivery teams, ensuring outstanding client-focused proposals. The role requires frequent travel across the UK and Ireland and reporting to the Civil, Roads and Infrastructure Proposal Team Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex, high-value strategic bids as Bid Manager or senior support depending on bid size and complexity.
- Ensure compliance with bid governance and review processes.
- Contribute to strategic bid capture planning.
- Collaborate with clients and Opportunity Directors to develop tailored solutions addressing specific client objectives.
- Support opportunity qualification processes.
- Provide expertise and leadership in managing strategic bids involving operational, technical, commercial, and financial proposals.
- Collaborate with bid authors and solution architects to transform operational and business development knowledge into winning proposals.
- Analyze completed bids and customer feedback to share best practices and suggest improvements to processes and team dynamics.
- Train and mentor colleagues in bid processes and skills.
- Gather and analyze market and competitor intelligence to inform future proposals.
Accountabilities
- Lead bids to deliver optimal quality and price solutions, keeping teams informed and focused on objectives and timelines.
- Work cross-functionally with Opportunity Directors, bid colleagues, operational managers, and commercial teams to develop tailored tender responses.
- Understand client needs to ensure integration and quality of proposed solutions.
- Quickly cultivate collaborative working relationships within bid teams.
- Support cross-business initiatives by disseminating proven bid practices.
- Continuously collect market intelligence to shape future business development efforts.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum APMP Foundation certification.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Suite and InDesign is desirable.
- Proven track record in a similar senior bid management role within engineering and construction sectors, particularly in Roads and Civil markets across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Expertise in bid governance, bid writing, and commercial acumen.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and Irish public and private procurement procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective team collaboration.
- Strong project management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Proactive, initiative-taking, and responsible work approach.
- Ability to assimilate large volumes of information and manage complex workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective client and internal relationships.

This is a full-time onsite position based in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland, with travel across the UK and Ireland required.
