About the Role
Morgan Stanley is a major global financial services organization offering investment banking, securities, wealth management, and investment management solutions. The Private Wealth Management (PWM) Asia division delivers tailored financial advice, investment solutions, and brokerage support to individuals, families, and foundations with a net worth of USD 35 million or more.
Within PWM, Investment Representatives act as private bankers for ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth clients. The role centers on building and managing client relationships, identifying opportunities, shaping investment strategies, and executing transactions with support from the firm’s sales, trading, research, and advisory teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build lasting relationships by understanding the needs of individual, family, and business clients.
- Stay current on client profiles, investment goals, and risk preferences.
- Recommend and structure investment strategies aligned with client objectives, requirements, and risk tolerance.
- Support sales, marketing, prospecting, and new product initiatives.
- Work toward individual targets across client-book growth, sales and financial outcomes, while maintaining a strong risk and compliance mindset.
- Apply detailed knowledge of local regulations governing investment advisory activities.
- Use quantitative analysis to develop investment ideas, support trade execution, and design advanced strategies for UHNW clients in Asia, including individuals and family offices.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field is required.
- Bring 6 to 10 years of experience in business development and sales, including consultative selling across a broad range of products.
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of investment products and portfolio strategy for UHNW clients.
- Have strong interpersonal abilities and the confidence to build trust with sophisticated clients.
- Communicate effectively in Chinese, English, and Mandarin, depending on the market covered.
- CPWP certification and CFA are preferred.
