About the Role

EM3 is searching for an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex mechanical, electrical, and energy infrastructure projects within industrial settings. This permanent role offers a blend of onsite work in Limerick, Ireland and hybrid flexibility, reporting directly to the Service Delivery Line Lead.

This position requires excellent organizational and technical capabilities to lead cross-disciplinary teams, coordinate with multiple contractors and stakeholders, and ensure safe, timely, and quality project completions. The Project Manager will be responsible for guiding projects through all lifecycle stages, from initial scoping and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and completion, aligning with EM3's goal of driving significant energy performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of diverse energy and decarbonization projects at industrial sites, handling all phases: planning, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Guarantee projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet defined scopes.
  • Serve as the primary interface among EM3, clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering teams, ensuring effective communication through progress meetings and status reports.
  • Create and oversee detailed project timelines and resource allocation plans using tools like MS Dynamics.
  • Administer budgets, monitor expenditures, manage change orders, and maintain financial oversight throughout the project duration.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and client-specific standards, leading quality assurance and commissioning validation activities.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, maintaining up-to-date risk registers and contingency plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including Gantt charts, minutes, safety records, and technical reports, and prepare executive summaries and dashboards for stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering or related fields.
  • At least 8 years of project management experience in energy, industrial, utilities, or capital projects.
  • Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with expertise in energy efficiency and decarbonisation technologies including steam systems, CHP, compressed air, cooling, and renewables.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to construction and site operations.
  • Experience managing procurement, vendor selection, and contract administration (NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts).
  • Ability to address technical and logistical challenges promptly and pragmatically.
  • Valid full clean driving license and willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
