Role Summary

We invite expressions of interest for Mechanical Engineers specializing in water infrastructure. Opportunities range from mid-level engineers with about five years of experience to senior lead engineers. You will leverage a broad global network of expertise and apply innovative thinking to solve complex water-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis and development of solutions for complex water infrastructure issues to meet client requirements.
• Design detailed mechanical water systems, with a strong grasp of hydraulics, including water, wastewater, stormwater treatment plants, and pump stations, ensuring integration within multidisciplinary projects.
• Apply New Zealand codes and standards rigorously to maintain project compliance and quality, staying current with industry innovations.
• Effectively communicate ideas and technical information verbally and in writing with diverse teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Utilize expertise in modelling and CAD tools such as Inventor and AutoCAD to create and review precise mechanical water system designs.
• Think laterally and pragmatically to develop creative and practical engineering solutions that overcome project challenges.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure sustainable project outcomes.
• Collaborate in a team-oriented environment, contributing ideas that influence project success and innovation.
• Build strong client relationships to understand their needs and align engineering solutions with their objectives.

Additional Information

This role is open to candidates across all GHD locations in New Zealand, including Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Hawkes Bay, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, and Wellington.
