Role overview

We are hiring on behalf of a partner organization that will handle all applications and the following stages of the process. The position is for an IT Security Associate located in Canada.

This opportunity is focused on strengthening enterprise technology security through the day-to-day support of cybersecurity policies and operational safeguards. The role involves helping manage user access, watching for security issues, assessing risks, and supporting compliance with established security requirements. You will work closely with both technical and business teams to maintain secure access practices and improve the organization’s overall security posture. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys blending technical know-how with analysis and process improvement. The work contributes directly to keeping business systems protected, reliable, and aligned with current cyber threats.

The role also provides a chance to deepen experience across several areas of information security while supporting a mature cybersecurity program.

Accountabilities

• Handle user access administration by creating, updating, reviewing, and disabling system permissions in line with job responsibilities and security rules.
• Assist with putting cybersecurity policies, procedures, and operational controls into practice and keeping them current across the organization.
• Track security platforms and tools to spot possible threats, look into security incidents, and help with response actions when needed.
• Carry out risk reviews and help identify, record, and reduce security-related risks.
• Draft and keep updated risk, control, technical, and process records so they remain consistent and compliant with requirements.
• Work with teams across the business to strengthen security practices and support ongoing cybersecurity efforts.

Requirements

• Prior experience in IT security, cybersecurity operations, system administration, or another closely related technology position.
• Good understanding of identity and access management, including provisioning users and governing access.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable standards.
• Working knowledge of common security tools, monitoring systems, and standard security practices.
• Ability to assess risk and document security controls as well as technical procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with careful attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to keep learning in the cybersecurity space.
