Role Summary

The Inbound Material Coordinator position at our Hamilton, Ontario site is essential in ensuring inspection teams adhere to productivity, quality control, and safety protocols effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Identify various incoming material grades and detect any non-conformities, non-recyclable, or hazardous materials in received loads.
  • Train inspection staff on productivity, quality assurance, and safety standards.
  • Efficiently direct trucks to appropriate yard locations to maintain operational flow.
  • Conduct routine inspections including pile quality assessments, truck inspections, gate cleanliness, and review overnight deliveries.
  • Communicate material quality feedback and sales specifications to the production team.
  • Ensure timely sorting and management of loads that require immediate attention.
  • Liaise with supervisors and commercial teams regarding downgrades and associated deductions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing training initiatives for external personnel related to quality and procedure adherence.
  • Audit outbound sales shipments to verify compliance with quality criteria.

Qualifications

  • Experience working around heavy machinery is required.
  • Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors under varying weather conditions.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong communication abilities coupled with leadership and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and solid work ethics.
