Overview
We seek a dedicated Housekeeper committed to maintaining our facilities with integrity and meticulous attention to detail. This role ensures a sanitary and organized environment for our guests, supporting our reputation and upholding high-quality care standards.
Key Duties
- Execute cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, and post-discharge cleaning following infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices.
- Comply with IPAC and Bayshore's guidelines when cleaning admission rooms, discharge areas, isolation or outbreak rooms, and client units.
- Follow Bayshore Policies and Procedures rigorously.
- Ensure each room meets established cleanliness standards through thorough care and inspection.
- Safeguard equipment condition and promptly report damages or shortages.
- Address reasonable guest complaints and requests professionally and patiently.
- Monitor stock levels of consumables and replenish as needed.
- Strictly observe health and safety regulations and company protocols.
- Engage in quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company’s Quality Management System.
- Participate actively in health and safety efforts, reporting risks or concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Complete accident reports within 24 hours for any workplace injuries involving direct reports.
- Support continuous quality improvement programs and maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, sharing it only with authorized personnel.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school diploma preferred; relevant Home Support Programs training is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is essential.
- Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision while sustaining high-quality work.
- Strong teamwork capabilities and customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage challenging situations with objectivity and consistency.
- Effective prioritization and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Capable of working swiftly without compromising cleanliness standards.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach freely, and lift up to 23 kilograms.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
- Knowledge and application of infection prevention practices.
Experience
Minimum of one year recent experience in a similar housekeeping role or equivalent life experience performing related duties.
