Overview

The Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO) is a pivotal executive role responsible for steering the entire financial management spectrum, capital structuring, treasury operations, funding approach, financial governance, and value maximization within a multifaceted group of companies. Reporting directly to the CEO and the Board, the Group CFO will be instrumental in spearheading sustainable growth, enabling strategic investments, optimizing capital deployment, and upholding exemplary financial stewardship standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulate and direct the Group’s overall financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Act as a strategic counsel to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Committee on finance, investments, and strategic planning matters.
  • Design and implement financial blueprints to underpin expansion, diversification, acquisitions, and entry into new markets.
  • Enhance shareholder value through prudent capital allocation and stringent financial performance oversight.
  • Manage treasury functions including overseeing liquidity, cash flow optimization, and capital deployment.
  • Develop and execute strategies for capital markets engagements encompassing debt and equity operations.
  • Maintain and nurture productive relationships with banks, financial institutions, credit rating agencies, investors, and relevant market participants.
  • Supervise management of risks associated with foreign exchange, interest rates, and other financial exposures.
  • Ensure effective working capital and funding management throughout the group entities.
  • Lead negotiation, structuring, and implementation of financing arrangements such as debt facilities, syndicated loans, project financing, and other instruments.
  • Explore and execute diverse fundraising activities supporting the Group’s growth trajectory.
  • Optimize capital structures maintaining balance between financial agility and appropriate leverage.
  • Conduct thorough financial evaluations of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and other investment prospects.
  • Lead due diligence and develop financial models for significant investment decisions.
  • Support initiatives aimed at portfolio optimization and operational performance enhancement.
  • Oversee post-merger integration and value realization efforts.
  • Enforce strong financial control systems, governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and risk management protocols.
  • Direct consolidated financial reporting across various business divisions ensuring adherence to IFRS and governance standards.
  • Present insightful financial reports, forecasts, and strategic advice to the Board and stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor financial KPIs across the Group, orchestrating budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Champion operational effectiveness, improve profitability, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and lead high-caliber finance teams, fostering a culture rooted in accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Partner closely with divisional leaders to strengthen financial discipline and commercial decision-making within subsidiaries.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent accreditation.
  • At least 18 to 20 years progressive finance leadership experience, including senior roles as CFO, Deputy CFO, Group Finance Director, or comparable executive positions.
  • Hands-on experience with publicly listed companies located in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in capital markets, treasury management, corporate financing, fundraising, and debt structuring.
  • Proven success in managing complex funding transactions and securing corporate debt facilities.
  • Background working within diversified conglomerates, holding companies, family offices, or multi-sector enterprises.
  • Sector experience in one or more of the following areas: Contracting, Construction, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Industrial, Energy, or similarly diversified industries.

Preferred Experience

  • Active involvement in capital market dealings, investor relations, and market-oriented financial operations is advantageous.
  • Experience leading significant refinancing, restructuring, or sophisticated financing programs is favored.
  • Track record of facilitating mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investment initiatives.
  • Career growth through internal promotions reflecting sustained high performance and leadership capabilities.
  • Competency in managing finance operations across multiple geographies and business sectors.
