About the Role
The Destination Content Executive is tasked with crafting and sharing authentic and engaging stories about Central Otago. By producing high-quality photo, video, and written material, this role aims to attract visitors, support local businesses, and enhance the region’s image as a unique travel destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling and accurate content that showcases Central Otago’s landmarks, communities, arts, events, food and wine, cycling and trail experiences, and heritage across various digital and marketing platforms.
- Manage and update Tourism Central Otago’s websites, social media, and email campaigns to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, accessible, and aligned with regional tourism priorities.
- Assist in planning, executing, and optimizing destination marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, digital advertisements, and marketing events.
- Develop and maintain collaborative connections with tourism operators and community stakeholders to identify story opportunities, helping improve their digital presence and content quality.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics of websites, social media, newsletters, and campaigns to refine content and boost audience interaction and marketing results.
- Oversee and innovate with digital platforms, content repositories, and marketing tools, embracing emerging technologies such as AI responsibly to increase content reach and efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience
- Working knowledge of the tourism sector.
- Proficiency in capturing and editing photos and videos using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Meta Suite, and SEM Rush.
- Social media channel management experience.
- Competence in website content management systems such as Silverstripe CMS.
- Marketing and promotion capabilities.
- Graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Excellent writing skills tailored to online platforms.
- Understanding of search engine optimization and generative engine optimization to guide content decisions.
- Ability to track content performance using Meta, Google, and SEMrush tools.
- Keeping abreast of technological advancements and spotting opportunities for content innovation.
- Strong planning and project management aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
