Design Associate - Home Staging

Overview

Mayker Interiors seeks a hands-on Design Associate to assist with home staging installations. This role involves transforming empty homes into warm, thoughtfully styled spaces ready to attract buyers. You will collaborate closely with the design lead and delivery teams to implement staging plans with a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull and organize styling inventory and décor elements at the warehouse, ensuring all items required for each staging are prepared with the warehouse manager.
• Guide furniture placement and layout decisions on-site, coordinating with the delivery team to realize the design lead’s vision.
• Apply finishing touches by styling rooms thoughtfully — making beds, arranging artwork, positioning plants, and accessorizing to create inviting atmospheres.
• Coordinate with photographers to ensure each staged home is camera-ready and optimally styled for marketing.
• Create lived-in, shoppable environments that feel authentic rather than staged.
• Supervise the careful packing and return of décor items during load-outs.
• Complete post-install design debriefs identifying any inventory gaps or site issues for future improvements.
• Offer ideas and feedback to the design lead on staging concepts and spatial arrangements as needed.
• Support additional interior design installation tasks as requested.

Candidate Profile

• You possess strong spatial design intuition and can evaluate and arrange spaces quickly and confidently.
• Physically willing to engage with hands-on tasks such as steaming linens, carrying décor boxes, and adjusting styling elements until perfect.
• Natural flair for styling with a meticulous focus on detail to make rooms appear considered and inviting.
• Highly organized, adept at managing timelines, inventory, and logistics without losing sight of any component.
• Flexible and adaptive approach to changing conditions like unready homes or shifting plans, solving problems on the fly.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, working smoothly with delivery teams and design leads, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
• Comfortable being active on your feet throughout the day at warehouses, homes, and client locations.
• Team-oriented mindset, willing to assist wherever necessary without concern for roles or titles.
• Flexible with working hours, understanding that installations may require early mornings, late afternoons, or weekends.

Additional Information

• This is an hourly role offering between 10 to 40 hours weekly, depending on your availability and project demands.
• Based in Nashville, you will be working regularly at the La Vergne warehouse, staged properties, and sometimes client sites.
• The delivery team will handle heavy lifting, but you should expect to carry styling items and occasionally move lighter pieces.
• Schedule flexibility is crucial as project timelines may fall outside typical business hours.
• Experience in home staging, interior design, visual merchandising, or retail styling is highly preferred.
