Job Summary

The Customer Communications Specialist serves as the first point of contact for multiple hospitals through the hospital switchboards. This role requires promptly addressing inquiries from internal and external customers, routing calls to the appropriate departments, and managing emergency response codes and plans. The specialist ensures consistent, accurate communication with customers by following standardized scripts and procedures, delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Duties also include monitoring alarm systems, making necessary overhead announcements, documenting emergency responses, and dispatching emergency requests as per established protocols, which may involve contacting 9-1-1.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of 240 hours of training in Customer Service and Emergency Response modalities.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in customer service and/or emergency response.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computerized systems.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, self-motivation, the ability to multitask across various systems, and to support service objectives and emergency code responses effectively.

  • Not eligible for remote work; position is onsite
  • Occasional on-call duties
