About the Role

Gate, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange with tens of millions of users, is building out a dedicated Card team to own and expand its international card programs from start to finish. This opening is for a founding member who will help shape the business, partnerships, and operating model behind that growth.

The role is intended for someone who has already taken a card program from concept through launch and into ongoing performance management. You will help design the strategy, secure the right partners, and oversee execution across the full lifecycle of new card launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and run the go-to-market strategy for new card launches across global regions, including identifying, assessing, and securing the right card issuers and BIN sponsors.
  • Lead commercial discussions with issuers, processors, and card networks, while evaluating technical compatibility, product fit, and regulatory considerations.
  • Serve as the program owner for each launch, managing the process from market research and partner onboarding through launch and post-launch improvements.
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to keep implementation moving smoothly and on schedule.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the wider card ecosystem, including issuers, processors, BIN sponsors, and card schemes.
  • Track card program performance metrics and conduct regular partner reviews to improve cost efficiency and overall results.
  • Work with large global merchants to secure exclusive cardholder perks and lifestyle partnerships.

Candidate Profile

This position calls for a professional with more than 5 years of experience in cards, payments, or fintech, and direct exposure to card issuers or financial institutions. Prior ownership of a card program from early planning through post-launch is mandatory.

You should have a solid understanding of the card payments ecosystem, including scheme requirements, processor relationships, BIN sponsorship models, and relevant regional regulations. Experience in bank-issued card products, fintech or neobank card programs, or digital-asset-linked card offerings will all be considered relevant.
