About the Role

Gate is a leading global cryptocurrency exchange with tens of millions of users. As the company expands its financial product offerings, it has created a dedicated card team to build and scale card programs across international markets.

This opening is for a Business Development and Operations professional who will help shape and grow Gate’s card business from the ground up. The position is intended for someone who has already taken a card program from concept through launch and into growth, and who can operate as a founding team member with broad ownership.

Role Purpose

The core objective of this role is to launch and manage global card issuance programs end-to-end. That includes identifying suitable partners, structuring commercial arrangements, coordinating internal stakeholders, and ensuring each program performs well after launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the business direction for new card launches across international markets, including sourcing and evaluating card issuers and BIN sponsors by region.
  • Lead commercial discussions with issuers, processors, and card networks while reviewing technical compatibility, product fit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of the full launch cycle, from market assessment and partner onboarding to go-live and post-launch enhancement.
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to keep delivery moving smoothly.
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key card ecosystem partners such as issuers, processors, BIN sponsors, and card schemes.
  • Track program performance metrics and run recurring partner reviews focused on efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with major global merchants to secure cardholder benefits, lifestyle offers, and exclusive partner perks.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience in card, payments, or fintech roles, with hands-on exposure to card issuers or financial institutions. Prior ownership of a card program from early-stage planning through post-launch operations is required.

You should understand the card payments landscape in depth, including scheme rules, processor relationships, BIN sponsorship models, and regional regulatory obligations. Experience in bank-issued cards, neobank or fintech card issuance, or digital-asset-linked card programs will be considered highly relevant.

This role suits someone who can independently drive projects, lead cross-functional teams through uncertainty, and move execution forward without close supervision. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Fluency in both English and Mandarin is mandatory.

Work Style and Opportunity

  • Fully remote role with location flexibility.
  • Founding-team style opportunity with significant ownership and visibility.
  • Global scope across multiple markets, partners, and card ecosystems.
  • High-trust environment with a strong degree of autonomy.
