Veterinary Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive and friendly team at a busy veterinary clinic in Point Chevalier, Auckland. You'll work alongside a dedicated group of vets and receptionists who are passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and customer service. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse eager to grow their leadership skills within a progressive veterinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently perform typical nursing duties, such as nail clipping and IV catheter placement, even under challenging circumstances.
• Identify and manage various animal health conditions including hyperthyroidism and ketotic states.
• Deliver excellent client education regarding post-treatment care and pet health management.
• Handle blood sampling and anesthesia monitoring with expertise.
• Assist with triaging consultations and provide routine nursing advice during patient visits.
• Utilize clinic technology including in-house biochemistry analyzers, digital and dental radiography, and nurse consultation rooms.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Veterinary Nurse with demonstrable experience and proactive work ethic.
• Warm and approachable personality with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Solid understanding of veterinary nursing procedures and a team player dedicated to collaborative patient care.
