About Khibra
Khibra is a nascent HRTech startup based in the UAE, focused on enhancing the connection between talent, universities, and employers by leveraging data, technology, and eventually AI-driven career and workforce intelligence tools. Presently, the company is developing its MVP using Laravel and building on a pre-existing JobBox platform foundation with bespoke UI/UX designs specific to Khibra's vision.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Technical Co-Founder and CTO, you will partner directly with the Founder to lead the technical evolution of Khibra. Your initial responsibility involves completing the MVP by managing the Laravel/JobBox codebase, implementing customized UI/UX into a functional product, enhancing both front-end and back-end features, and overseeing critical technical components such as databases, APIs, authentication, user roles, workflows, and infrastructure. You will also ensure code quality, security, and performance while handling deployment, hosting, and version control.
Beyond the MVP, you will architect scalable platforms including AI and data-driven features, guide the technical roadmap, infrastructure setup, and expand the engineering team over time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong proficiency with PHP and Laravel frameworks
- Comprehensive full-stack web development skills
- Experienced in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledgeable with MySQL or other relational databases
- Expertise in RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services
- Familiar with authentication methods and role-based access controls
- Practiced with Git and version control systems
- Capability to manage deployment processes, servers, and production environments
- Comfortable working within and improving existing codebases
- Ability to convert UI/UX designs into responsive, user-friendly applications
Desirable Additional Skills
Experience with AI technologies such as language models, recommendation or matching systems, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, or relevant AI APIs and data-driven product development will be highly valued, though deep AI research expertise is not required.
