Role overview
An established Australian financial services business is looking for an experienced data analyst to join its expanding investment and data analytics capability in Melbourne. The position will contribute to better data quality, investment reporting, platform improvement, and wider analytical work across the organisation.
Engagement details
- Assignment length: 6 months
- Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
- Daily rate: $850 to $900
What you'll be doing
- Review and verify large data sets to support investment analysis, reporting, and day-to-day business decisions.
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to strengthen data governance, improve data quality, and lift reporting performance.
- Help enhance enterprise data platforms and associated integration workflows.
- Build, refine, and support SQL queries, analytical models, and reporting outputs.
- Contribute to data initiatives delivered within cloud-based data environments.
- Create insights and dashboards using BI and analytics tools to meet stakeholder needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to uncover ways to improve processes and operating efficiency.

- At least 5 years of experience in data analysis.
- Background in investment management, asset management, wealth management, or a wider financial services investment setting is required.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, with confidence working through complex data.
- Exposure to modern cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience contributing to data quality and data governance efforts.
- Solid SQL skills and comfort handling large datasets.
- Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or advanced Excel for analysis and visualisation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
