Role overview
The Recovery Associate helps keep the store neat, well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing. A major part of the job is making sure merchandise is returned to the sales floor correctly, shelves stay full, and the department stays clean. Strong customer service is also a key part of the position.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers promptly and create a friendly shopping environment.
- Help shoppers make informed purchasing choices.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality service that supports a positive customer experience.
- Organize, replenish, and merchandise products to create effective displays.
- Learn the store locations of featured products and keep that knowledge current.
- Complete the daily recovery routine for assigned departments.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly, including wiping shelves and sweeping underneath them.
- Follow the Indoor Merchandising Guide for the relevant department.
- Keep restrooms clean and maintained.
- Apply safe handling practices and follow required safety procedures.
- Use office tools and equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, calculators, and computers.
- Operate handheld devices and retail equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and ladders.
- Take part in cross-training to support work across multiple departments.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and webinars to build knowledge and stay updated.
- Provide courteous, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate Rural King values, including People First, Integrity, Attitude, Initiative, Teamwork, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement.
- Carry out other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Comfort with working in a fast-moving team environment while staying flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision.
- Comfort using computer systems and software to assist customers and complete tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service ability.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for long periods.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull at least 30 pounds repeatedly and 31-50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack.
- Ability to move throughout and access all areas of the facility.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and through electronic devices.
- Good close-up vision for computer-based work.
