Qualified Automotive Technician / Mechanic

Role overview

We are hiring an experienced, dependable Automotive Technician / Mechanic for a busy, long-running workshop in Onehunga, Auckland. The workshop handles a broad mix of vehicles and is known for quality workmanship, strong customer service, and a positive team culture.

This is a full-time position with standard hours of Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.

What you will do

• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across different vehicle makes and models.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and general repair work on customer vehicles.
• Perform WOF-related inspections and repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment correctly and efficiently.
• Complete job cards and related workshop paperwork with accuracy.
• Work with the wider team to keep the workshop organised, clean, and safe.

What we are looking for

• A relevant New Zealand automotive qualification.
• Proven experience working in the NZ automotive industry.
• A full New Zealand driver licence.
• A WoF ticket is highly desirable.
• Strong fault-finding ability across a wide range of vehicles.
• Someone who can work independently as well as contribute well in a team.
• A dependable, self-driven, and motivated approach to work.
