Role Overview

Join HM Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade at HMP Isle of Wight with a starting salary of £29,432. This vital role contributes to the efficient daily operation of a busy prison, combining desk tasks with active duties such as security checks, managing visitor supervision, and monitoring communications and CCTV.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security and searches at the prison entrance.
• Manage incoming deliveries and supervise visitors on site.
• Monitor telephone communications and CCTV footage within the prison grounds.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across the prison area.
• Carry out driving duties, requiring a full, valid UK driving license.
• Work varied shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure continuous prison operations.

Qualifications and Skills

No formal qualifications are required. Essential qualities include effective communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, sound judgement, common sense, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
