Role overview
This is a prison officer position at HMP Highpoint within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). The role is described as fast-moving, varied, and rewarding, with the chance to make a real difference to public safety and to the lives of people in custody.
The salary range for this role is £35,746 to £40,003.
What the job involves
Prison officers are responsible for protecting the public while helping offenders move in a more positive direction. In this role, you may take on a mix of responsibilities across the course of a single day, including acting as a peacekeeper, counsellor, or teacher depending on the needs of the prison environment.

Working pattern
This job requires flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends.
