About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate individual to join our hospital team as a Porter. This role is crucial in supporting patients, transporting supplies, and assisting various departments to operate securely and efficiently. Your contribution will help ensure a positive and safe experience for patients throughout their hospital journey.

Working Hours
- Rotating shifts including 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, and 11am-7pm
- Saturday shifts approximately once every three weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Safely escort and assist patients during admissions, theatre visits, diagnostics, and discharge processes
- Transport equipment, stock, medical records, and other necessary items across hospital departments
- Manage linen supplies by ordering, receiving, distributing, unloading deliveries, replenishing stock and collecting used linen
- Conduct specimen collections during the day
- Receive deliveries ensuring proper and secure storage of goods
- Adhere strictly to infection control, manual handling, health and safety, and data protection guidelines
- Support maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and visitors
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and service development initiatives
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Good educational background with solid literacy and numeracy abilities
- Experience in porter duties, facilities management, healthcare support, or customer service roles
- Strong communication skills with a courteous and professional demeanor
- Compassionate and respectful approach to patient care
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage varied workload priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
- Flexible attitude, eager to learn and grow within the position
- Awareness of customer care standards, health and safety regulations, and confidentiality requirements in healthcare
