Job Description

This role is part of the Project Controls team, focusing on managing and administering the Project Management Information System (PMIS). Initial responsibilities involve supporting the collaboration with the PMIS implementation partner to oversee the system rollout, with ongoing duties including promoting adoption and expanding usage across the broader portfolio management group. The primary software platform is SAP, specifically SAP Project Systems (PS) and SAP Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM).

Key Duties

• Serve as the technical client-side expert during PMIS implementation, ensuring configurations meet project control and reporting needs.
• Liaise with the implementation partner to establish data architecture, workflows, report templates, and system interfaces that align with organizational requirements.
• Track progress of implementation milestones, identify and manage issues or risks, and communicate status updates.
• Plan and lead the phased extension of PMIS usage throughout the portfolio management function, handling change management and driving consistent user adoption.
• Handle large, complex datasets ensuring their integrity, precision, and reliability for all reporting cycles.
• Create and maintain documentation of PMIS standards, processes, and data governance policies.
• Offer training sessions and ongoing technical support to team members and end-users across the project portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

• Thorough expertise in PMIS, data reporting tools, and database administration.
• Proven experience in a client-side role supporting or leading enterprise project management system implementations, especially SAP or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage extensive data sets as part of routine reporting and ad-hoc requests.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard development using SAP-sourced data.
• Strong SQL skills for effective database querying, data handling, and automating reporting workflows.
• Solid grounding in project controls methodologies, including cost management, scheduling, earned value management (EVM), and risk assessment.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) and/or SAP EPPM highly preferred; candidates with a sound SAP foundation willing to specialize in PS/EPPM are also considered.
• Between 9 and 15 years of substantial professional experience.
• Prior work in Project Management Office (PMO) or Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environments is highly advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-driven attitude, and strong communication abilities in English, with Arabic language skills being a plus.
