Position Overview
This role supports onsite coordination and supervision of construction projects at The Annex Group, requiring a strong background in commercial construction management spanning at least five years. Candidates should be well-versed in all phases of construction, from earthworks through to final architectural punch lists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in project planning and scheduling, including developing look-ahead schedules, and collaborate with the superintendent to ensure timelines are met.
- Plan and allocate manpower on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis aligned with the master project schedule.
- Oversee documentation, quality control, and enforce safety standards on site.
- Receive and maintain inventories of materials supplied by the general contractor on a routine basis.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and methods.
- Apply strong field expertise and technical skills to job site activities.
- Lead through fostering teamwork and clear communication among staff.
- Maintain a clean and orderly construction site.
- Coordinate building and site inspections and ensure successful completion.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with local authorities.
- Prepare and update daily reports and photographic documentation using construction software tools.
- Support the Project Superintendent with quality control related to framing and interior punch lists.
- Follow guidance from the Project Superintendent to help deliver projects efficiently.
Work Environment
- The role involves work in a fast-paced office setting with varying noise levels.
- Requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demands regular face-to-face and verbal interaction with colleagues.
- Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment is expected.
- On-site presence involves exposure to typical construction hazards, necessitating strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols.
Requirements
- Significant field experience in commercial construction, ideally over five years.
- Experience in the multi-family housing market is mandatory, with a preference for five years or more.
- Proficient in personal management, scheduling, cost control procedures, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable using email, MS Office, and other relevant technology tools.
- Professional certifications such as OSHA and LEED accreditation are advantageous but not compulsory.
Physical Demands
- Frequent activities include walking, standing, and sitting within the work environment.
- Requires observation and documentation of activities across job sites.
