The Installation Technician III is responsible for executing installation activities on AVI-SPL projects, including cable pulling, termination, system component setup, rack construction, wiring layouts, and metal fabrication. This position entails leadership to oversee installation crews on larger and more intricate projects, coordinating progress and reporting to the Project Manager to meet objectives related to timeline, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all installation-related tasks as specified by project plans and directives.
  • Lead onsite, providing mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians and ensuring quality standards.
  • Interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints accurately.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for tasks such as soldering and crimping connectors, related to audiovisual systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong client-facing abilities to build and maintain relationships professionally.
  • Advanced knowledge of audiovisual technologies, including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling such as HDMI, CAT5e/6, and fiber optic, including cable management methods like conduit runs and trays.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving audiovisual system issues.
  • Understanding of network infrastructure integration with AV systems, encompassing IP-based and cloud services.
  • Competence in safely operating hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and lead junior technicians and teams on complex projects.
  • Experience using specialized test equipment and adherence to installation safety codes and standards.
  • Regularly advising Project Managers, Engineers, and Programmers on technical and installation issues affecting project delivery.
  • Possession of AVIXA CTS General Certification.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and complies with company driving standards.
