Graduate Geologist

Role overview

This consultancy is looking for a motivated geology or geoscience graduate to join its Ground Investigation team in Northampton. The role focuses on a mix of geo-environmental and geotechnical projects, with strong support for learning, training, and long-term progression.

What the role involves

You will work alongside ground investigation specialists and contribute to technical site and office-based project work across a wide range of investigations.

• Carry out Phase 1 desktop studies.
• Record soil and rock descriptions through logging activities.
• Monitor groundwater and gas conditions.
• Prepare factual and interpretive reports.
• Support trail pitting and related ground investigation tasks.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will be a recent graduate in geology, environmental geoscience, geotechnical engineering, earth sciences, geography, or a closely related field. The employer also requires the successful candidate to live within commuting distance of Northampton, have full permission to work in the UK, and hold a full UK driving licence.
