Overview
The Director of Shared Services is charged with steering the strategic blueprint, execution, and oversight of a unified shared services model that spans the entire organization. This executive role involves crafting a vision that aligns with company-wide goals and ensures operational efficiency and effectiveness across various departments.
Responsibilities
- Create and administer a strategic plan for shared services compatible with key business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Supervise the design, planning, and rollout of shared services projects to ensure peak operational standards and adherence to industry best practices.
- Implement and maintain measurement systems to track service delivery performance in line with established SLAs.
- Encourage ongoing improvement by introducing process enhancements and innovative service delivery approaches.
- Drive change management initiatives to guarantee successful integration of shared services throughout the organization.
- Work collaboratively with department leaders to understand their service needs and ensure the shared services team fulfills or surpasses these standards.
- Lead, guide, and develop a diverse team of professionals fostering a culture of engagement and high achievement.
- Prepare and communicate detailed performance and improvement reports for executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks tied to shared services operations and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
- Keep informed on industry developments, forward-thinking methodologies, and new technologies to continually evolve shared services.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in shared services or similar operational leadership roles with progressively greater responsibility.
- Proven success in formulating and implementing operational strategies that enhance service delivery and reduce expenses across departments.
- Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams and promoting interdepartmental collaboration.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for informed decision-making.
- Ability to analyze complex data and extract actionable insights to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Expertise with change management to navigate transitions smoothly with minimal resistance.
- Outstanding communication skills capable of influencing and persuading various organizational stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of performance management and development of effective metrics for team and service evaluation.
- Competence in leading organizational transformation within diverse and dynamic cultural settings.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance standards pertinent to shared services operations.
