Overview
At Lidl Ireland, from the headquarters to the retail floor, the ultimate mission is to craft and deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every customer. We are searching for energetic, customer-focused individuals passionate about learning and engaging daily. The Customer Assistant role offers an opportunity to earn starting at €460+ weekly on a standard 30-hour work contract.
Work Schedule and Shifts
The role involves variable shifts, working with diverse colleagues, and adapting to different tasks. Shift patterns include:
- Morning Shift: Beginning at 5 or 6 am, focusing on fully stocking award-winning products and preparing bakery items to ensure availability by store opening.
- Middle Shift: Starting mid-morning or early afternoon, concentrating on maintaining cleanliness, correct product presentation, ensuring freshness, assisting customers, and operating tills efficiently.
- Late Shift: Beginning in the afternoon, providing excellent customer service at tills, restocking products, and prepping the store for the next day.
Primary Duties
- Engage with customers warmly, maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Adhere to stock loss prevention protocols across the store.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards both inside the store and external areas.
- Follow principles of product freshness and stock rotation.
- Manage waste properly in all store areas.
- Support stocktaking activities as required.
Applicant Requirements
- Must be aged 18 or above due to alcohol sales involvement.
- Positive attitude combined with strong customer service abilities.
- A willingness to exceed customer expectations.
- Dependability and a responsible work ethic.
- Enjoyment of dynamic and fast-paced work settings.
- Strong teamwork spirit.
- Previous customer-facing experience is advantageous but not mandatory with the right mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
Lidl provides a transparent and competitive salary structure guaranteeing equal pay for all roles. Hourly rates start at €15.40, rising to €17.90 after three years, with additional pay for unsocial hours, overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays.

Salary Progression Details
- Year 1: Basic €15.40/hr; Unsocial hours €19.25/hr; Overtime/Sundays €23.10/hr; Bank holidays €30.80/hr
- Year 2: Basic €16.20/hr; Unsocial hours €20.25/hr; Overtime/Sundays €24.30/hr; Bank holidays €32.40/hr
- Year 3: Basic €16.90/hr; Unsocial hours €21.13/hr; Overtime/Sundays €25.35/hr; Bank holidays €33.80/hr
- Year 4: Basic €17.90/hr; Unsocial hours €22.38/hr; Overtime/Sundays €26.85/hr; Bank holidays €35.80/hr
