Overview
This role supports the Corporate Legal Affairs division within the Legal Department by providing comprehensive administrative assistance for various corporate matters related to the organization's charitable programs and affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Counsel in managing the daily operations and affairs of the Corporate Legal Affairs division.
- Support the Corporate Paralegal and Legacy Realization Coordinator by handling planned giving communications, including document review, summary of wills, trusts, deeds, and correspondence.
- Review and suggest edits to legal instruments like receipts, releases, and indemnification agreements before preparing them for the General Counsel’s signature.
- Prepare, send, and file correspondence, legal documents, and application/distribution forms.
- Coordinate communication with external parties such as executors, administrators, trustees, attorneys, and fiduciaries regarding gifts and asset distributions.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to legacies and related realization efforts.
- Draft and incorporate standard addenda into straightforward contracts.
- Manage the organization’s time-tracked contract database and process related requests.
- Review lobbying activity reports and prepare as well as submit lobbyist registration and activity disclosure forms.
- Handle invoice processing and credit card reports for the Legal Department.
- Manage voicemail messages and departmental mail effectively.
- Perform additional tasks as delegated by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- An associate degree plus five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus three years in related responsibilities.
- Ability to be present daily at the Washington, D.C. office.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Dedication to the mission and objectives of the organization.
Additional Details
The hourly salary for this position ranges between $19.61 and $23.79, determined based on experience and local cost of living. Benefit details are provided to eligible employees. Applications will be accepted until August 21, 2026, or until a suitable candidate is selected. This is an on-site, full-time role based in Washington, D.C.
