Role Overview
We are in search of a meticulous and methodical Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant to aid in the organization's everyday financial tasks. The person will play a key role in ensuring that financial records are precise, transactions are handled properly, and internal accounting policies and standards are consistently upheld.
Core Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently.
- Generating and preparing accurate invoices.
- Reconciling bank statements alongside general ledger accounts.
- Maintaining up-to-date financial records and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Managing expenses and payment processing in a timely manner.
- Supporting the creation of financial reports and tracking budgets effectively.
- Collaborating closely with finance team members and various stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies.
- Contributing to enhancing financial workflows and safeguarding the confidentiality of financial data.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Solid grasp of accounting principles, financial bookkeeping, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel features such as formulas and PivotTables for financial analysis.
- Experience or familiarity with accounting and ERP software like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, or QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of procedures including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining general ledgers.
- Understanding of month-end closing activities and proper financial record keeping.
- Exceptional numerical ability with careful attention to accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking, organizational capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize various tasks, manage deadlines, and function well in a dynamic setting.
- Effective written and oral communication to work collaboratively across departments.
- High professional integrity and dedication to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
- Willingness to learn new financial software, accounting standards, and operational procedures.
- Proactive approach in identifying process improvements in financial operations.
