Job description
Job Overview
The Safety Officer will be responsible for managing the daily health and safety operations at the project site, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols, and supporting the effective implementation of safety management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain all safety aspects related to civil engineering and construction activities on site.
- Provide technical guidance and support in health and safety management.
- Keep up-to-date and apply relevant safety standards as outlined in Dubai Municipality and RTA manuals.
- Prepare and coordinate traffic diversion plans in work zones to maintain safety.
- Maintain comprehensive records and prepare detailed reports relating to risk assessments and management activities.
- Participate in road safety interviews conducted by the prequalification committee.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Safety from a recognized tertiary institute.
- Minimum two years of experience focusing on safety in network construction projects.
- Training certifications including OSHA H2S awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, and Preventive Medicine.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction and emergency procedures.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid UAE driving license.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in recycled water, sewage, and pumping station construction supervision is advantageous.
- Additional traffic safety certifications would be considered a plus.
