Job description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to become a key member of our supervision team. The ideal candidate should have 10 to 15 years of professional experience in consultancy firms, specializing in post-contract Quantity Surveying functions. Preference will be given to candidates who hold Chartered status. The position emphasizes maintaining strict budget control and managing variations effectively throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute post-contract Quantity Surveying tasks aligned with project and contractual obligations.
- Perform monthly inspections on-site to verify completed work against approved plans and specifications.
- Compile a Monthly Schedule of Completed Works to support interim payment certification processes.
- Review contractors’ claims for extension of time and prepare related contract variation orders.
- Evaluate and advise on interim and final payments to contractors based on physical work progress.
- Maintain meticulous records of materials delivered onsite, including consolidating all delivery invoices.
- Track and document utilization of plant equipment, manpower, and resources on the project site.
- Collect, cross-check, and submit test results to the Client to verify compliance requirements.
- Mark up drawings for underground activities, verifying line, level, and position details.
- Generate cost reports, maintain variation logs, and prepare cash flow forecasts to aid project monitoring.
- Provide support to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager on all commercial and contractual post-contract matters.
- Adhere strictly to Qatar Construction Specifications, FIDIC standards, Ashghal, Municipality, and Civil Defense regulations throughout the contract.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- 10 to 15 years of hands-on Quantity Surveying experience within consultancy companies is mandatory.
- Chartered status is desirable; professional certifications such as MRICS, RICS, or CIQS provide an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of post-contract services, including payment certification, claims analysis, variation administration, and final account settlement.
- Strong familiarity with local construction standards including Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), FIDIC contract conditions, and relevant municipal authority requirements.
- Competency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and specialized Quantity Surveying software such as CostX or Candy.
- Excellent communication and reporting proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
- Applicants must be currently residing in Qatar and hold a valid Qatar ID (QID).
