Overview
This opportunity involves managing and optimizing a rapidly expanding third-party marketplace channel within a dynamic e-commerce organization. The role is focused on overseeing supplier onboarding, enhancing marketplace performance, ensuring catalog accuracy, and streamlining operational procedures that contribute directly to a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to discover potential new supplier partnerships aligned with business priorities.
- Engage with potential suppliers, communicate marketplace value propositions, and handle initial qualification discussions.
- Coordinate with category teams to prioritize and align supplier acquisition efforts with marketplace objectives.
- Oversee supplier onboarding, including contract management, documentation, data gathering, technical configuration, and launch management.
- Lead product feed setup and validation processes, ensuring data accuracy and resolving catalog issues pre-launch.
- Provide training to suppliers on marketplace systems and operational standards to foster long-term success.
- Serve as the primary contact during onboarding to troubleshoot and guarantee smooth marketplace integration.
- Develop and maintain operational guides, standard operating procedures, and scalable workflows supporting marketplace expansion.
- Enhance marketplace processes related to claims handling, warranties, returns, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Monitor supplier metrics, detect service-related issues, and coordinate resolutions involving data integrity, fulfillment, pricing, and accounting.
- Review and improve product listings by enhancing feed data quality, imagery, attributes, and positioning.
- Perform marketplace audits and competitor research to identify opportunities for data cleanup and improved customer experience.
- Test new marketplace functionalities, document platform enhancements, and facilitate operational upgrades.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, pricing, supply chain, product and customer service teams to address marketplace challenges.
- Analyze operational data such as inventory levels, pricing updates, and returns trends to recommend improvements.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in marketplace operations, vendor management, e-commerce merchandising, or similar functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier or vendor relationships in operational roles.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret sales, inventory, and operations data to inform decision-making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with multiple data systems and reporting platforms.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across departments.
- Experience creating structured documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to independently lead operational initiatives within a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience with marketplace platforms like Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, or comparable e-commerce ecosystems.
- Familiarity with product feed management, catalog systems, Master Data Management (MDM) tools, or data quality control.
- Industry knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or trade supply sectors is advantageous.
