PayMoji is a mobile application designed to let travelers abandon bulky wallets and make payments using native QR codes common in Southeast Asia. To ensure the app works efficiently in real-world situations, we are seeking street-smart travelers to help us analyze spending habits and payment behaviors in cities you are already visiting.

Key Responsibilities

• Go about your daily travel routine, visiting cafes, night markets, and local merchants, documenting the payment processes you encounter.
• Use the PayMoji app to scan local QR payment codes while eating, shopping, or traveling, and report on the success or challenges of each transaction.
• Collect insights on local payment preferences and market trends, including which vendors accept QR payments, where cash remains predominant, and the obstacles to adopting digital payments in your area.
• Observe and record how local vendors respond to foreign travelers using native digital payment options.

Candidate Profile

• Authentic traveler with genuine experience as a traveler or digital nomad, empathetic to user needs based on daily lived reality.
• Curious and inquisitive, enjoying engaging with locals and noticing subtle details about how urban environments operate.
• Self-driven and capable of independently managing a straightforward research assignment, providing clear and honest feedback from the field.
