Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Arcadis is looking to appoint an Electrical Engineer for a contract role based in North Leinster, Ireland, initially lasting 12 months. This position involves being part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on water and wastewater projects, from their conception to completion and handover. The role offers close collaboration with leading project teams in a unified culture, fostering both professional growth and diverse skill expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical design submissions.
• Collaborate with design teams to prepare design and construction drawings and related documentation.
• Act as liaison between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers.
• Develop and apply Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Permits, and other health and safety paperwork.
• Create scope documents and prepare tender packages.
• Review subcontract tenders and contract pricing structures.
• Generate Electrical Design Deliverables including Single Line Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Motor and Instrumentation Schedules, and P&IDs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare purchase orders and sub-contract agreements.
• Manage site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work adheres to design specifications and contract timelines.
• Conduct quality control checks to confirm work aligns with designs and is ready for commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning documentation and supervise commissioning activities.
• Coordinate project close-out stages, including handover to the client.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience, ideally within the Water and Wastewater sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational, planning, teamwork, training, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in IT and numerical tasks, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Holds a full clean driving licence.
