Overview

If you have a keen interest in electricity, mechanics, and hydraulics and want to contribute to keeping wind turbines operational, this role offers a chance to be part of the renewable energy transition. As a Service Technician at Vestas, you will develop your technical skills across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic domains with top-tier training, aligned with a strong emphasis on safety.

Work Locations and Conditions

  • Positions available across regional Australia, excluding FIFO roles; presence in the region is required.
  • Locations include WA (Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton), SA (Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier), VIC (Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale), NSW (Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes), QLD (Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton), TAS (Musselroe, Granville Harbour).
  • Standard working hours: 8 hours per day with approximately one weekend on-call duty every 3–4 weeks.
  • Annual travel expected to be around 50 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and adhere to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards while achieving service objectives.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components as specified by Vestas.
  • Support turbine operations through condition monitoring and remote control systems.
  • Manage service vehicles and stock, including ordering necessary tools, materials, and spare parts.
  • Assemble and service turbine components following current standards and instructions, utilizing cranes when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic trade certification with a willingness to enhance expertise in these areas.
  • Proficient computer skills for handling tools and documentation systems.
  • Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license.
