Role Overview
We are looking for a highly detail-focused Scheduler who can spot issues early, adjust plans ahead of time, and help keep a major project running smoothly. In this position, you will create, track, and maintain several project schedules while coordinating timelines and resources to support on-time delivery.
You will work alongside experienced professionals and dedicated teams to improve efficiency and contribute to successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project schedules and supporting narratives using production and budget input from engineers, project managers, superintendents, and estimating teams.
- Support baseline scheduling during the bid stage by working with estimating and engineering teams to sequence the work accurately.
- Track completed work and delays, then document their effect through company-approved scheduling and financial reporting tools.
- Review production progress and flag any schedule or budget risks before they escalate.
- Use technical knowledge to solve complicated production and scheduling problems.
- Prepare project status updates for managers and Project Managers for weekly and monthly review meetings.
- Take part in planning meetings so that all project stakeholders are aligned and informed.
- Build and maintain schedules that include both cost and resource loading.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience as a scheduler in heavy civil construction.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including intermediate-level capability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to organize priorities independently and take initiative without close supervision.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment while handling several tasks at once.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Advanced verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
