About NHS Ayrshire & Arran

Role Overview
An opportunity is offered for a permanent part-time Porter/Driver based at University Hospital Crosshouse, working 36 hours per week. The schedule includes two shift patterns on a three-week rotation: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Sunday. From April 1, 2026, the NHS Agenda for Change will reduce full-time hours from 37 to 36 per week, with pro-rata adjustment for part-time roles.
Responsibilities
Your duties encompass general portering tasks as detailed in the official job description, including supporting hospital operations through transport and logistics.
Requirements
- Applicants must be physically fit to fulfill portering duties.
- Previous experience in a similar position is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
- Completion of NHS Ayrshire & Arran's Corporate Induction is compulsory for all new staff.

- This position requires legal eligibility to work in the UK, with NHS Ayrshire & Arran potentially offering visa sponsorship for qualifying roles based on eligibility criteria; however, sponsorship cannot be provided for Band 2 posts or bank contracts.
