Role Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean common areas including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitize kitchens and bathrooms
  • Collect and dispose of refuse from resident rooms according to protocols
  • Record completion of routine cleaning tasks
  • Conduct audits and inspections as assigned
  • Provide personal laundry services for residents upon request
  • Communicate supply needs promptly to the People Leader
  • Efficiently use cleaning supplies and equipment to uphold quality standards
  • Maintain and restock the housekeeping cart, notifying supervisor when supplies run low
  • Actively promote a safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, encouraging safe practices among colleagues, and completing safety education
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification
  • At least one year of experience in commercial housekeeping and/or laundry services
  • Strong initiative and dedication to deliver housekeeping duties efficiently with warmth and customer service focus
  • Effective communication skills with internal staff and external customers demonstrated politely and cooperatively
  • Knowledgeable in infection control and prevention protocols
  • Proficiency in using auto scrubbers, floor buffers, and vacuum cleaners
  • Previous experience working with seniors or in senior living environments is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while safely handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check upon employment
  • Completion of Dementia: Understanding the Journey course considered an asset
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred (adjusted for regional requirements)
  • Clearance of Criminal Record Check and, when applicable, Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to appointment
  • Passion for supporting healthcare and ensuring quality living conditions for seniors
