About the Role

Cheltenham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Estate Operative to join its team at the Central Depot, GL51 9JZ. This permanent, full-time position offers a salary range from £25,583 to £25,989 annually and requires 37 working hours each week. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning of communal spaces including carpets, food waste bins, and windows utilizing specialized equipment and machinery.
  • Collect and responsibly dispose of illegally dumped waste and remove fire hazards from communal areas following legal standards.
  • Use a PDA system to log job specifics, submit evidence including photos, and document work performed.
  • Communicate safety concerns regarding health, vehicles, equipment, and materials to supervisors promptly.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current full driving licence and experience with manual handling techniques.
  • Capable of safely operating cleaning machinery, handling hazardous materials, and working independently.
  • Effective and polite communicator, able to collaborate well within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the capacity to identify safeguarding issues.
  • Prepared to work indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions.
  • Relevant NVQ qualification and prior cleaning experience preferred but not essential.
