About the Role

NexVentur is seeking an experienced Civil Site Agent / Supervisor to work full-time onsite in County Mayo, Ireland, with a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor. This role offers the chance to oversee the management of multiple civil engineering crews across diverse urban and rural infrastructure projects, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion.

Key Duties

  • Oversee daily site operations and coordinate several civil teams to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality work delivery.
  • Manage multiple civil engineering projects across different sites, ensuring milestones and schedules are met.
  • Provide technical guidance by reviewing construction drawings and plans as required.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and programme adherence on site.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and client specifications.
  • Manage site resources including materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Supervise traffic management and enforce site safety protocols.
  • Maintain communication with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and the general public.
  • Report regularly on project status and progress.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior team members to foster skill development.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in civils, utilities, drainage, or infrastructure projects.
  • Prior experience managing multiple site crews and overseeing site operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Thorough knowledge of health & safety and quality control standards.
  • Commercial insight into project costs and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with groundworks, utilities, and civil engineering processes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing workload and working independently under pressure.
  • Full clean driving license is mandatory.
  • Engineering qualification or equivalent construction experience is favorable.
